Kids in Peoria County will continue to attend pre-school thanks to a resolution sponsored by Allen Mayer, and brought forward by Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools Beth Crider Derry.

Peoria County will extend a $120,000 line of credit to Myah's Just 4 Kids and Myah’s II Christian Learning Center in Peoria. As a result Myah's will be eligible to receive grant funds under the State's Preschool for All program.

“This is a win-win for our community,” said Allen Mayer. “It helps a small business here in Peoria, it helps some of the most at-risk children in our community, and it helps their parents who are able to work full time.”

The resolution passed on a bi-partisan majority vote of 15-1.
